The Programme for Christian–Muslim Relations (PROCMURA) takes this opportunity to Thank you all for choosing to take part in the PROCMURA National Campaign for peace 2018.

In PROCMURA’s 59 years history, this is the First International Campaign it has organised. The quest for the campaign is informed by the Growing Challenge of Violent Radicalisation and Violent Extremism in Africa and other parts of the world.

Our aim is to Raise and Enhance Awareness to the general public about the Negative effects that the Phenomenon is having on us and more especially our Youth who are tomorrow’s future. We therefore welcome all of you to actively participate in the events.

We plan to bring together over 5000 Christian and Muslim participants to actively participate in the three days planned events. As we mark our very first commemoration of the International Day of Peace, we urge all of you to be part of our Vision which is “An African continent where Christian and Muslim communities in spite of their differences, work together for justice, peace and reconciliation, towards the holistic development of the human family and the environment”.

This year’s events will feature three categories:

  1. Public Lecture, Friday, 21st September 2018.
  2. Peaceful Campaign Walk, Saturday, 23rd September 2018.
  3. Special prayers at the Mosque, Friday, 21st September 2018 and a Special Church Service on Sunday, 23rd September 2018.

We have put together a team of professionals to make the event successful and effective and to be able to achieve our goal, “To see an African continent where Christians and Muslims uphold the principles of religious freedom and all that it entails; constructively relate to promote peace in the society and peaceful coexistence between Christian and Muslim communities; jointly respond to environmental challenges”. We will uphold the highest level of professionalism and inclusivity.

We are call on all organisations and individuals to partner with us and make a contribution to the cause.

I would like to assure all the participants that we are working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure safety operations during the event.

We take this opportunity to thank all our International Partners, Ecumenical Partners and organizations, sponsors and individuals, who have made immeasurable contributions towards this project.

"...SO FAR AS IT DEPENDS UPON YOU, LIVE PEACEABLY WITH ALL"
